After five years, Senior retail VP Angela Ahrendts of Apple is resigning from her role for new personal and professional searches.

On the official blog, Apple announced that in April, Ahrendts is planning to go and will be succeeded by Deirdre O’Brien, who will take on new responsibilities as the Senior Vice President of Retail + People.

Tim Cook, Apple CEO said that Ahrendts has been a positive and transformative power for Apple stores.

Ahrendts has been an important contributor in the making of Apple’s stores as community spaces, where new experiences were organized in the form of creative workshops and displays.

In her statement, Ahrendts said that her term at the company had been the most stimulating, challenging and fulfilling of her career. She added that there was no better time to pass on my work to Deirdre.
