Jantar Mantar, a historical monument is located in the Pink city, Jaipur of Rajasthan, India, is a historical monument that includes architectural astronomical instruments which are meant to see the movement and positions of the celestial bodies with naked eyes. It was built in the 18th century, Sawai Jai Singh or Jai Singh II, Rajput ruler of Amber, Jantar Mantar in Jaipur.

Maharaja Jai Singh II in five different places built five similar astronomical observatories with one of the best preserved in Jaipur, in which there were about twenty big fixed equipment. Many of these instruments are the largest of their kind in the world.
There is another side of the heritage observatory instead of only having great importance as a scientific and architectural historical site, Jantar Mantar also has religious significance because ancient Indian astronomy was an integral part of Jyotisa.
It also signifies the royal authority of the Rajput rulers because of its control of time, and its rational and astrological forecasting capacities. Also, it was an ideal meeting place for many scientific and political cultures of that time.
